There’s even a simple layers panel that lets you create layers, similar to how layers work in Photoshop. Once I got used to where the tools were and what shortcuts I could use, I could focus on just creating the tiles. Transitioning from Photoshop to Pyxel Edit wasn’t difficult. Adobe Photoshop was sufficient for creating pixel art scenes, but when it came to creating tilesets, it didn’t have the specific functions for it. The main reason why I chose Pyxel Edit was because I needed a pixel art editor that would let me create tilesets with ease. To use the program, one will need to purchase it, which can be done on the website. Pyxel Edit is a pixel art editor that is being developed by one person, Daniel Kvarfordt, who also has a Twitter page. As mentioned in my previous post, I used Pyxel Edit to create my pixel art tileset for the mini school project game. ![]()
